What is CNC Turning?

CNC turning is a manufacturing process in which the workpiece is rotated and the tool moves in a straight line or curve in a plane.

Turning is generally carried out on lathes, used to process the parts with cylindrical features and axial, radial holes, flats, grooves, and slots.

Advantage

1. Easy to ensure the position accuracy of each machining surface of the workpiece.

A: For example, it is easy to ensure the coaxiality requirement

Use chucks to install the workpiece. The rotary axis is the rotary axis of the lathe spindle

Using front and rear centers to install the workpiece, the axis of rotation is the center line of the two centers

B. It is easy to ensure the perpendicularity between the end face and the axis, which is required by the horizontal slide rail and the axis of rotation of the workpiece

2, The cutting process is more stable to avoid the inertia force and impact force, allowing the use of a larger cutting dosage, high-speed cutting, conducive to improve productivity.

The surface roughness of nonferrous metal parts is not suitable for grinding because of the small requirement of Ra value. Turning or milling is required. When using diamond turning tool for fine turning, high quality can be achieved.
