How is the bevel gear processed?

Bevel gears are often used for transmission between two vertical shafts, but two-shaft transmissions at other angles are also suitable. The most prominent application is to use a horizontal drive device to drive a vertical pump. The main difference between bevel gears and spur gears is the shaft relationship and shape on which they are located. Bevel gears are conical in shape, while spur gears are mostly cylindrical in shape. Bevel gears transmit motion between two angled shafts, that is, interspersed shafts, while spur gears mainly transmit motion between two parallel shafts.

The processing and production of bevel gears are mainly processed on professional gear planers. Of course, bevel gears can also be machined on a universal milling machine, but the size and profile of the teeth are not accurate enough. Bevel gears are usually processed by a combined method, that is, on a universal milling machine or a horizontal milling machine. As for finishing, that is, the calibration of the tooth profile, it is mainly processed on a professional bevel gear machine tool.

The production process for making bevel gears consists of the following steps. The machined blank is mounted on the mandrel, which is fastened to the indexing head, and the axis of the indexing large pivot is turned to an angle equal to half the cone angle of the blank.

After the blank is installed, use a disc module milling cutter to mill the tooth groove to the full depth, and the milling cutter should be consistent with the module of the small radius of the milled gear, so that the entire gear tooth is milled. As for Bevel gears indexing, the indexing head is used in the usual way.
